The Top Dog Business Awards are set to shine a spotlight on outstanding achievements within Cumbria’s vibrant pet industry.
Hosted at The Halston in Carlisle on Friday 16 May 2025, this exciting event invites Cumbrian businesses across the canine sector to celebrate their success in a supportive and inclusive environment brought to you in association with Headline Sponsor Telford’s Van Hub, Carlisle. Proceeds from the event will support Eden Animal Rescue’s New Kennel Fundraiser to help create a brighter future for animals in need.
The Top Dog Business Awards is the idea of PIF Members Dave and Vicky McKenna, the husband-and-wife team behind the popular Top Dog Doggy Day Care, Carlisle’s only 5-star licenced, vet-inspected and multi-award-winning doggy daycare facility.
As successful entrepreneurs and passionate advocates for raising standards within the pet care industry, Dave and Vicky were inspired to create the awards to recognise the dedication and innovation of businesses that contribute to the health, happiness, and wellbeing of the county’s canine companions.
“Being finalists in three business awards within 12 months ourselves, we wanted to make this type of thing more accessible and less intimidating for businesses in our area,” said Dave. “The awards are completely free to enter to ensure all businesses, regardless of size, have the opportunity to participate.”
The 2025 Top Dog Business Awards will feature ten categories, ensuring all aspects of the dog industry are recognised:
- Dog Walker of the Year
- Dog Groomer of the Year
- Dog Day Care of the Year
- Dog Kennels of the Year
- Dog Breeder of the Year
- Dog Trainer of the Year
- Retailer of the Year
- Dog Vets of the Year
- New Business of the Year
- Dog-Friendly Venue of the Year
Winners and finalists will benefit from increased visibility, opportunities to network with industry peers, and well-deserved recognition for their efforts.
“Our region is home to some truly inspiring businesses, from solo dog walkers to established veterinary practices,” said Vicky. “This is a chance to recognise their contributions and share their stories while giving back to the community we all care so deeply about.”
Entering the awards is free and easy. Businesses can submit their entries online for free at www.topdogawards.co.uk. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for more organisations looking to support this one-of-a-kind event and connect with Cumbria’s pet-loving community. Sponsors will enjoy prominent advertising opportunities, marketing benefits, and exclusive tickets to the event.
The deadline for entries is February 2025. Updates and announcements will be shared on the official Top Dog Business Awards Facebook Page.
