Play9 has expanded its canine enrichment range with the launch of The Roolo Mini, a compact dog toy designed specifically for small-to-medium breeds.
Following the 2023 release of the original Roolo enrichment toy and the subsequent introduction of Tuki’s Treats, the Brighton-based pet brand created the new product in response to feedback from dog owners requesting a smaller version.
Standing at four-fifths the size of the original model, The Roolo Mini features a redesigned treat opening tailored for smaller rewards and mouth sizes. The smaller dimensions also offer a distinct physical and mental challenge for larger dogs, making the item suitable for travel and training sessions.
The Mini retains the core features of the original product, including durable construction and unpredictable rolling patterns aimed at encouraging natural foraging behavior.
“We did not change the core formula, we simply reduced the frame,” stated the Play9 development team. “The Roolo Mini delivers instinct-led canine play in a compact size that better suits smaller dogs, bringing our signature enrichment design to a wider range of breeds.”
To accommodate canine visual perception, Play9 selected a bright sunshine yellow finish for the Mini. Research indicates that yellow and blue are the two primary visual frequencies most easily distinguished by dogs.
Founded in 2023 in Brighton, Play9 focuses on developing products that support physical and cognitive health in pets through interactive design and natural nutrition.
